Our bar and lounge was inspired by Blackie Norton's Paradise Bar & Gambling Hall in the 1936 movie San Franciso. The 20' granite topped bar and the monkey lamps that light it will truly take you back to another place in time, but beware when you walk out the door ... you're still in Walnut Springs.

Dobber has been in the restaurant business for 50 years and has built and designed restaurants in Los Angeles, CA, Aspen, Denver, and Stemboat Springs, CO, Tulsa, OK, Shreveport, LA, Panama City, FL, and Dallas, Glen Rose, Granbury, Houston, Port Aransas, Rockwall, South Padre, and Walnut Springs, TX, He takes pride in the fact that most materials used in all of his construction are recycled or vintage material. Dobber's motto is "I've never met a piece of barnwood I didn't like".

This dynamic blonde was raised by American Airlines and enjoyed a 35 year career. Born in Los Angeles, CA, she surfed her way to Texas and takes pride in calling Glen Rose her home. Come by and say hello to Suzi and be prepared to be swept off your feet.

INSPIRATIONAL OWNER
San Francisco, directed by W. S. Van Dyke, was MGM’ s biggest grossing film for 1936. It was a disaster movie about sinful San Francisco just before the great earthquake of April 18, 1906. Clark Gable played Blackie Norton, a shady and sexy owner of a notorious Barbary Coast saloon cabaret.
